One partner in Kampala, the other in Gulu, Nairobi or Dubai. An app-controlled toy lets the one far away set the rhythm. Here is how they work, what they need, and what to check before you buy.
How it works
- The toy pairs with a phone by Bluetooth, like earphones. That phone is the one near the toy.
- The free app on that phone then shares control over the internet: your partner opens the same app on their phone, anywhere, and the sliders on their screen move the toy on yours.
- Close by, in the same room or at dinner, no internet is needed at all: Bluetooth reaches about 10 metres.
What it costs to run
Very little data. Control signals are tiny, far less than a video call, so an ordinary mobile data signal is enough. Charge the toy fully before you start.
Which one to start with
- A love egg (UGX 73,000, in stock in Kampala): small, worn inside, quiet. The easiest first one.
- A panty vibrator (UGX 68,000, in stock in Kampala): sits in underwear against the body, nothing inserted. Good if inside is not for you.
Each product page lists the material, charging and how to clean it. See the couples shelf for more.
Privacy
The app asks for Bluetooth and, for long distance, an internet connection; it does not need your contacts or photos, so do not allow them. Use a plain name for the device in the app. If you share a phone, the app can sit in a folder; the parcel and every message from us are plain anyway (how discreet delivery works).
Before the first time
- Pair and test it together on a video call first, so the far partner learns the controls.
- Agree a word that means stop; the one wearing it can always switch it off from their own phone too.
- Wash it with mild soap and water before and after, and use a water-based lubricant with silicone toys.
