Ask people who have tried a few toys which one they would keep, and the wand comes up again and again. It is external only, strong, simple, and works for almost everyone. Here is how to choose.
Why a wand
- Nothing goes inside. It rests on the outside, which makes it the easiest first step and comfortable for anyone unsure about insertion.
- Broad, deep vibration. A wide head spreads the feeling instead of buzzing one tiny spot, which many people find more satisfying than a small bullet.
- Shared easily. It is just as good for a partner to hold, or for both of you during sex.
- It doubles as a back and shoulder massager, which is also what it looks like in a drawer.

Our advice: start with the mini. If you later want more power, the full size is the upgrade. Sharing a house? Smaller motors are usually quieter (quiet toys for shared houses).
How to use one well
- Start on the lowest setting, through underwear or a towel the first time. Strong is not always better.
- A little water-based lubricant makes it more comfortable directly on skin.
- Move it slowly, or let it rest and move against it.
Care
Wipe the head with mild soap and a damp cloth; do not put a wand under running water unless it says waterproof. Charge it fully before the first use, and store it dry and out of the sun (storing toys in a hot climate).
